Who We Are

Founded in 2020, Guftugu Foundation is a non-profit, registered under the Indian Companies Act. It is a social start-up of sorts that aims to transform health and social well-being of people everywhere.

In India, our first battleground for sowing the seeds of hope through people-centric conversation, the focus of our attention is the 120 most under-developed districts, also referred to as ‘aspirational’ districts of India.

The Foundation derives its direction from the vision of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, India’s highest-level planning organization with a mandate to catalyze the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Vision of Guftugu Foundation is ‘Transformation Through Voice and Accountability : A Healthy Planet for All”

Currently, some of the most under-served districts in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are the key beneficiaries of its services. First of its kind in India, the Guftugu District Dialogues are designed to open up constructive and incisive conversations around the state of health & well-being, education, social and economic performance of the district. With this dialogue, and its comprehensive investment in world-class documentation of the development landscape of the district and its untapped potential for change, Guftugu Foundation aims to create a new paradigm of sub-state and local governance with potential opportunities for kickstarting new change across various fields.

No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it. We must learn to see the world anew.
